ABC MA Chapter Strategic Planning Conference Oct. 22 - by Brian Jurgens

Associated Builders and Contractors Massachusetts Chapter president Brian Jurgens Brian Jurgens, ABC-Mass. Chapter

Associations thrive when members are actively involved.  It’s easy to defer to ABC’s leadership, and our leaders have gained a great deal of wisdom through years of involvement with our organization.  But one thing that’s even better than deferring to our leaders is to become one.

One of the best opportunities to get more involved with ABC comes on October 22 with our annual Strategic Planning Conference, which will be held at Babson College’s Executive Conference Center in Wellesley.  To accommodate your busy schedules, we have compressed the 2015 conference into a single day.

The Strategic Planning Conference is particularly important this year because, in addition to setting ABC’s agenda for 2016, we will develop a three-to-five year business plan for the association.

Laura Cataldo of Maxim Consulting Group, LLC, will facilitate the conference. Laura brings over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, including 15 years working with construction trade associations, giving her a unique perspective on both contractors (members) and staff.  She is keenly in touch with future trends and works with construction and trade associations at both the national and chapter levels to identify key issues, implement proactive solutions, and deliver value to members. She understands the challenges created by rapid changes in the political and business environments.

Today our industry is booming and in Massachusetts the political climate is far better than in the recent past.  But as we learned just a few years ago, good times can be fleeting.  Please  register here to join us on October 22 and play an active role in developing a strategy that will help ABC and our member companies thrive for years to come.

Brian Jurgens is chairman of the Associated Builders & Contractors – Mass. Chapter, Woburn and is a senior vice president at W.T. Kenney Co., Inc., Arlington, Mass.
