Abramo, Johnson, Gabriel, Gentilucci, Soltys and Buttitta promoted at Nitsch

Boston, MA Continuous improvement is one of Nitsch Engineering’s core values, and they love celebrating when their employees push themselves to grow professionally. They have recognized six employees who have done just that and have been promoted including the following:

• David Abramo, director of finance - Abramo has more than 17 years of experience with corporate accounting and management in the A/E/C industry. A demonstrated leader and key member of the Nitsch management team, he has been instrumental in improving reporting processes and analyzing datasets and statistics since joining the Nitsch team. Abramo is a key leader of multiple of Nitsch’s strategic plan initiatives. As director of finance, he is responsible for overseeing all functions of the accounting department. He applies his skills of teambuilding and communication, along with his analytical skills, to their corporate financial reporting and analysis, annual budgeting, external audit process management, and business process engineering.

• Jennifer Johnson, PE, CFM, CPSWQ, LEED AP, deputy director of planning -  Johnson is a civil and water resources engineer with 17 years of experience. She provides stormwater and watershed planning, design, permitting, and construction services, specializing in tailoring sustainable stormwater management techniques to site-specific conditions in both urban and rural environments. Johnson has successfully designed and implemented green infrastructure solutions at the site, neighborhood, and watershed scale to increase resilience, address the challenges of climate change, and meet local and state stormwater and water quality regulations. A creative and solutions-oriented problem-solver, Jenn serves on Nitsch’s board of directors and coordinates the planning department’s strategic plan efforts.

• Marc Gabriel, PE, CPESC, planning senior project manager - Gabriel has 17 years of experience providing site planning and design services including layout, grading, stormwater and drainage design, and utility systems. He specializes in providing sustainable stormwater management techniques to site-specific conditions in urban and suburban environments, including the design of green infrastructure practices such as bioretention, stormwater wetlands, and porous pavement. Within Nitsch, he helps to lead the QA/QC group.

• Jared Gentilucci, PE, CPESC, LEED AP BD+C, civil engineering senior project manager - Since joining Nitsch as a co-op, Gentilucci has gained 17 years of experience as a civil engineer. He manages site development and building projects throughout Massachusetts, focusing on the design of stormwater management systems, site utility systems, site layout and grading, erosion and sediment control, and permitting through various local, state, and federal agencies. Gentilucci co-manages Nitsch’s Worcester office and serves as a valued mentor to the junior staff he works with.

• Matthew Soltys, PE, RSP1, ENV SP, transportation project manager - Soltys has nine years of experience in transportation engineering, during which time he has specialized in guiding projects from the conceptual phase through construction while remaining focused on delivering projects that meet his clients’ needs. He focuses on designing roadways, intersections, and complete streets improvements for municipalities and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT).

• Nick Buttitta, civil engineering senior project designer - Buttitta has three years of experience as a civil engineer, and earned a bachelor of science in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University.
