Acorn Mgmt. negotiates 35,000 s/f lease for New Bedford Antiques Co.

The New Bedford Antiques Company has leased 35,000 s/f at Wamsutta Mills. They occupy an entire two story building and sell an upscale, wide variety of antique items including furniture, paintings, glassware, memorabilia, ceramics, scrimshaw and antique ironware. They join the Lofts at Wamsutta Place, a 500,000 s/f historic mill conversion now consisting of 250 upscale loft style apartments in what is becoming a unique waterfront community. Housed in a separate historic building that was once part of Wamsutta Mills they bring a new dimension to living at Wamsutta Place. Other plans for the mill include a coffee shop, a dry cleaner and a farmer's market, all of which will be part of the New Bedford Antiques operation. Jeff Costa, owner of The New Bedford Antiques Center, said, "We are very excited to be part of the Wamsutta Mills redevelopment and have already found that residents of the mill are shopping for furniture and decorations at our store. We looked at a number of potential locations and decided that being part of the Wamsutta Place community was the right choice for us." David Scherer, director of development for Acorn Management said "we are pleased to have New Bedford Antiques Center with us because of the quality of the items that they sell. They constantly update their inventory and always have interesting new antiques for sale."
