American Renal Associates takes 49,000 s/f at 500 Cummings Center

American Renal Associates has signed a lease for 49,000 s/f of first-class office space at 500 Cummings Center. One of the nation's largest providers of outpatient kidney dialysis services, American Renal will relocate its headquarters in October. Located at Cherry Hill Corporate Center for 11 years, American Renal was outgrowing its 32,000 s/f office. According to chairman and CEO Joseph Carlucci, the new space at Cummings Center offers room for its current staff of 155, and the new venue will allow for continued growth. Carlucci co-founded American Renal 12 years ago. "We really wanted to remain in this wonderful community," Carlucci said. "Ultimately, Cummings Center offered us an unbeatable package of an upscale property with a custom buildout and a well-known location, at a reasonable rate." The new headquarters will provide complete support, including all back office functions, to all of American Renal's facilities. The firm has 118 clinics in 19 states and the District of Columbia. Cummings Center general manager Steve Drohosky said, "We are delighted to welcome American Renal Associates to Cummings Center." "Major firms, like this one, that are well-respected and successful can choose to locate anywhere, and it is very important for our community that American Renal will stay within the city of Beverly. We are pleased we could offer the office space and infrastructure it needed," said Drohosky. Drohosky noted that American Renal's employees will specifically benefit from a new covered parking deck slated to open later this year, directly adjacent to the firm's space. The two-level structure will accommodate 434 cars as well as a 1,600-panel, 470-kilowatt solar array. Built in 2004, 500 Cummings Center is now 86% leased. It bears the Energy Star certification, signifying the achievement of strict energy efficiency standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The Cummings Center campus offers fully built out space in new and newly renovated buildings for a range of commercial uses, including executive offices, medical offices, and laboratories.
