As summer draws to a close, ASM is looking ahead to a busy and exciting fall while reflecting on another successful season of bringing the construction community together. In July, ASM hosted its 30^th Annual Golf Tournament at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth, welcoming subcontractors, associate members, general contractors, and industry suppliers for a day of networking, camaraderie, and friendly competition. We enjoyed beautiful weather, and the event provided a great opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and strengthen industry relationships while raising funds to support ASM’s scholarship, awards, and member service programs.

Building on that momentum, ASM’s fall calendar offers members even more opportunities to connect, learn, and engage with their peers across the industry. On September 16, ASM will host its first Safety Roundtable since achieving OSHA Ambassador Alliance status in June. The program will be held at JM Electrical’s Innovation Center in Woburn and will focus on the importance of emergency response preparedness and the role of AEDs in saving lives. We are grateful to Andy Penaskovic of ZOLL Medical Corporation for sharing his expertise and to JM Electrical for hosting the event and providing lunch. These roundtables continue to serve as valuable forums where safety professionals and construction leaders can exchange ideas and learn from one another.

Later in the season, ASM will host one of its signature networking events, the GC Showcase, on October 21 at Polar Park in Worcester. Held every two years, the showcase brings together 25 to 30 of the region’s leading general contractors and construction managers, providing a unique opportunity for subcontractors and GCs to build relationships in a relaxed and productive environment. General contractors are encouraged to bring team members from estimating, purchasing, project management, and other key departments, giving attendees a well-rounded look at their companies, subcontractor engagement practices, and upcoming opportunities.

The response to the GC Showcase has always been overwhelmingly positive. One ASM member described the 2024 event as a “home run for networking,” and that sentiment captures exactly what makes the showcase so valuable. By bringing together decision-makers and construction professionals from across the industry, the event helps foster the connections that drive successful projects and strong business relationships throughout the Commonwealth.

Whether through educational programs, safety initiatives, networking events, or industry advocacy, ASM remains committed to creating meaningful opportunities for members to connect and grow.
