Boston, MA At the October 29 ASM  dinner gala, Associated Subcontractors of Mass. was proud to honor Massachusetts House speaker Robert DeLeo with our Outstanding Legislator Award in recognition of his long-standing support of the state’s construction industry and subcontracting community.

In his remarks at the event, speaker DeLeo recalled the passage of the 2010 Prompt Pay Law and last year’s 5% Retainage Law, as well as Unemployment Insurance Reforms that have kept UI taxes in check.  These laws have helped strengthen the finances of hundreds of subcontracting companies doing business in Massachusetts. The packed house at the Museum of Science gave speaker DeLeo a well-deserved, enthusiastic ovation at the conclusion of his remarks.  Speaker DeLeo, also known for his efforts to promote the innovation economy, improve our transportation system and create new jobs. He has represented Winthrop in the Massachusetts House since 1991 and became speaker in 2009.
