B.C. Tent & Awning Company, Inc. celebrates 45th Anniversary

Avon, MA B.C. Tent & Awning Company, Inc. is proudly commemorating its 45th anniversary, marking nearly a half-century of excellence in providing high-quality tents, awnings, and event solutions.

Starting as a small business with a single rental tent in 1980, B.C. Tent & Awning was founded by Bob Costa in his father’s garage. The company quickly established itself as a reliable provider of high-quality tents and event solutions. Over the years, B.C. Tent & Awning has evolved into one of New England’s leading tent rental companies, expanding from a handful of part-time employees to a team of over 25 staff members, supplemented by additional seasonal hires.

Throughout its history, B.C. Tent & Awning has diversified its range of offerings and services, catering to both small, private events to large corporate functions, all with the same attention to detail. The company commitment to service and quality led to significant growth, necessitating multiple relocations over time to accommodate its expanding operations.

Its 1997 campaign, Big or Small, We Do It All, helped broaden the company’s reach in the Boston area. Since the year 2000, B.C. Tent & Awning has been located in Avon, in a facility that has expanded over time and now encompasses a 25,000 s/f warehouse. In 2017, the company acquired Boston Party Rentals, further growing its inventory and services.

Today, B.C. Tent & Awning manages over half a million s/f of tents, with offerings that include party rental equipment, tents, and awnings.

The company is also known for its strong history of collaborating with nonprofit organizations, including Father Bill’s & Mainspring, the Joshua Kaye Foundation, and its support of numerous local community events.

Some of the higher profile events covered by B.C. Tent & Awning over the years include those held by the Boston Red Sox, and visiting dignitaries including former President George Bush and Hillary Clinton.

“Reflecting on our journey over the past 45 years, I am incredibly proud of what B.C. Tent & Awning has achieved,” said Costa. “Our growth is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team. We remain committed to providing exceptional service and quality to our clients and look forward to continuing to innovate and lead in the industry.”
