Baybutt Construction serves as construction manager for $4.5 million Portsmouth Fire Station 2

Baybutt Construction is serving as the construction manager to build the new $4.5 million Fire Station 2 for the city. The project involved first demolishing existing 3,000 s/f building on Lafayette Rd. The construction of the new 15,725 s/f LEED Silver certified fire station got underway in May and is scheduled to be completed in Spring of 2010. The two-story facility includes six apparatus bays, training tower and training auditorium, offices, men's and women's living quarters, exercise and locker rooms, emergency operations center, storage and fire pole. Architect for the project is Winter St. Architects.
