Beacon Communities hires Sullivan as chief administrative officer

Boston, MA According to Beacon Communities, an industry leader in affordable and mixed income property development, they have hired Tim Sullivan, formerly of UBS and MassHousing, as chief administrative officer (CAO). In his new role at Beacon, Sullivan will be responsible for the overall financial strategy and oversight of information technology, human resources, accounting and finance.

Bringing extensive knowledge and deep financial expertise to Beacon, Sullivan most recently served as managing director and head of the housing finance and New England region for the public finance department at UBS. Before joining UBS in 2017, Sullivan spent 15 years at MassHousing, where he served as the executive director, deputy director, head of rental lending, and CFO. Sullivan also has significant experience working in the Massachusetts government, including serving as the state’s budget director and finance director.

Sullivan is active in his hometown of Brookline, having previously served in a variety of roles including as a Town Meeting Member, on the Housing Advisory Board, as the PTO Treasurer of the Baker School, and as a Board Member and Treasurer of the Coolidge Corner Theatre Foundation. Mr. Sullivan has also served on numerous State Boards, including the MBTA’s Fiscal Management and Control Board, the Comptroller’s Advisory Board and CEDAC. He is a graduate of Union College and received his Master’s from the McCormack Graduate School of Public Affairs at UMass Boston.
