Bergeron of Kennedy/Jenks Consultants named 2015 Woman of the Year by the Boston Chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar

Boston, MA Janice Martin Bergeron, senior program director of Kennedy/Jenks Consultants, was named 2015 Woman of the Year by the Boston Chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS-Boston). The award recognizes a member of WTS-Boston who is a leader in the transportation industry and has advanced the reputation and credibility of women and minorities within the industry through her career achievements. “Janice’s passion and energy to make things better and make people better have resulted in tremendous contributions to WTS-Boston and to the overall transportation community. She is a role model to so many in the industry,” said Rachael Sack, current president of WTS-Boston.

With over 25 years in the engineering and construction industry with a focus in transportation, Bergeron has extensive experience managing and coordinating large scale projects. Working in senior management roles, her primary focus has been on transit related projects involved in program management, real estate, and environmental. As senior program director for Kennedy/Jenks, Bergeron oversees transportation projects and manages the firm’s new Boston office.

“It is an honor to be recognized by WTS-Boston, an organization that I’m so passionate about. I truly love to help women succeed and thrive as leaders in the transportation industry,” said Bergeron. 

Janice has served in leadership roles for WTS-Boston since 2002 and is a previous Board of Director. Currently, Janice Chairs the Appointments Committee and sits on the Advisory Board, a position she’s held since 2006, and participates at the national level. She has also held leadership roles in numerous transportation organizations such as American Public Transportation Association, American Council of Engineering Companies, Conference of Minority Transportation Officials, and Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus.   Janice holds a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and marketing from Suffolk University in Boston, MA.
