Bernkopf Goodman LLP's hospitality group continues to reach beyond New England

The Boston law firm Bernkopf Goodman LLP represented Massachusetts-based Claremont Co. Inc. in its $21.65 million acquisition of Fort Lauderdale's Il Lugano Hotel & Residences. "This was not your typical hotel sale," said Martin Pomeroy, a real estate partner at Bernkopf Goodman and member of the firm's hospitality group. "Due to the development structure, different departments in the firm assisted, including creditors' rights due to a previous bankruptcy by the seller, licensing and permitting together with normal and customary title and contract issues." Bernkopf Goodman is also representing Claremont Co. Inc. in its development of a new hotel on Rte. 9 in Brookline, Mass. Bernkopf Goodman's hospitality group provides business counsel to a wide range of lodging, restaurant, bar, and food service industry clients. Other clients include national chains with facilities throughout the United States, including those leaders who are making their entry for the first time into the growing N.E. market. For over a century, Bernkopf Goodman has represented clients in complex, high-stakes real estate, business and litigation problems.
