Big Value Plaza completes renewal site

The improvements project for the Big Value Plaza is now complete. "We undertook these renovations to make the plaza a more welcoming and convenient shopping experience. We've had very positive feedback from our shoppers," said David Tatelbaum, owner of the Plaza's Big Value anchor store. Only the new BayCoast Bank branch that will front on Dartmouth St. is still in the finishing stages. It will be the bank's first South Dartmouth location and is projected to open early this year. All new LED lighting in the parking lot significantly reduces the plaza's carbon footprint, and the installation of a bio-retention area in a front section of the parking lot facilitates water absorption into the soil and helps with drainage into the town's water system. A more customer-friendly parking configuration improves traffic safety and adds convenient spaces in front of the specialty stores as well as handicapped parking spaces to the lot.
