BOMA Boston: Behind the Scenes with BOMA

BOMA Boston had a busy month of September - where BOMA members and non-members were educated on the city's preparedness efforts, participated in a tech tour at Gillette Stadium and a Behind the Scenes Tour at One Marina Park Dr. The month also included a meet and greet with the Greater Boston Real Estate Board's board of directors and United States congressman Capuano - representing the 7th Congressional District. On Friday, September 12 BOMA Boston Engineering members participated in a site tour of Gillette Stadium. The tour included a technical presentation on Gillette's 2,000 ton chilled water plant and covered how the plant was designed, installed and commissioned and how it is serving Gillette. As part of Emergency Preparedness Month, the BOMA Boston Emergency Preparedness Committee hosted a roundtable with Public-Sector Law Enforcement Agencies. Representatives from the Transit Police Department, Boston Police Department - District 4, Boston Police Department - District 1 and the Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC) discussed issues in the business community in their respective jurisdictions and provided attendees information on how best to work together and help keep them informed. On, Wednesday, September 24 BOMA members and guests participated in behind-the-scenes tour of ONE Marina Park Dr. Shawn Carroll, general manager, CB Richard Ellis - N.E. Partners, LP and Ken Mitsui, operations manager, CB Richard Ellis - N.E. Partners, LP guided a tour through the class A building located at Fan Pier. The tour included a visit to tenant space including Fish & Richardson and EnerNoc's World Headquarters. Using a vacant space the guides were able to provide an update and birds-eye view of the development in the Seaport - including Fan Pier, the Goodwin Procter Site, and Seaport Sq. The event concluded with a networking reception at Jerry Remy's in the Seaport. BOMA Boston's annual Fallfest will take place at the Hard Rock Café in Boston on October 9. This event is one of the largest BOMA Boston holds during the year, and brings together property managers and owners with sponsoring service providers for a night of networking in a festive atmosphere.
