BOMA Boston update – Behind the scenes tour, congratulations MAC TOBY winners, education & more!

Boston, MA The 2025 BOMA Benefit was held on Friday, March 21st at the Seaport Hotel. It was a fantastic night with the return of Casino Night with over 300 in attendance. Guests enjoyed dancing, great food and playing casino games all while raising money for Bridge Over Troubled Waters.

BOMA’s partnership with BOMI International remains strong. Through educational offerings, BOMA members and non-members learn from senior professionals in the commercial real estate industry to work towards earning their RPA or FMA designations. BOMI: Environmental Health & Safety Issues – ACCELERATED will start on Tuesday April 15th and conclude on Thursday April 17th Virtual via Zoom from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Led by instructor Brendan Reilly, national business development director, ATI Restoration, students will learn best practices for developing and managing and effective environmental health and safety program. You will learn about the regulatory process and how it affects facilities. Compliance with laws and regulations is a key focus. The course will prepare you to conduct site assessments, analyze risk, and cooperate with compliance audits. The course also guides learners through the planning process to mitigate the risk from any workplace emergency, specifically addressing hazardous materials, air quality, water pollution, asbestos, and lead hazards, and tank management. The management of and response to specific indoor environmental quality complaints is also addressed. To register for class, please contact Kathryn Morgan.

BOMI: Real Estate Investment & Finance is being held on Mondays & Wednesdays starting on April 28th and ending on May 21st. The class will be taught by Mark Giampa, director of property management, Related Beal and will be Virtual via Zoom from9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. This course teaches you to take charge of real estate investments to maximize a property’s value. Combining the latest industry practices with practical applications, you will learn basic financial concepts related to real estate, including income capitalization, valuation, analysis, taxation, depreciation, and life cycle costing. In addition, you’ll learn to evaluate real estate investments and develop budgets estimating net operating income, including spreadsheet examples that showcase current calculation methods and provide multiple resources to address your investment and finance needs. Join us for a Behind the Scenes Tour including a presentation about The Davis Companies Everett Landco Project on Tuesday, April 29th from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. Come learn more about the history of the site’s industrial operations and Davis’ plans for redevelopment in Everett’s Lower Broadway District. Registration for members in $40 and non members is $60.
