On October 11, over 100 BOMA members and their guests gathered at 960 Main to celebrate and congratulate the 2012 TOBY winners and honorees. The TOBY winners this year were 340 West Newberry Rd. in Bloomfield. Owned and managed by Griffin Land, this property won in the Under 100,000 s/f category. Electric Boat/New London Campus won a TOBY in the 500,000 - 1 million s/f category. The property is owned by General Dynamics and managed by Jones Lang LaSalle. Also winning a TOBY was 2 Central Ave. This property won in the Historical Category and is owned by Two Central Place, LLC and managed by the ACRE Group.
The 2012 Honorees included Wes Nicoll of Griffin Land, Member of the Year, EDENS as Corporate Honoree of the Year, David Berthold of Performance Environmental Services for Allied Member of the Year, and David Jones of Konover Commercial Corporation for the 2012 Engineer of the Year. The night was a huge success with great networking, wonderful food and lots of congrats to the winners.
I would like to encourage all property owners and managers to consider entering their building in the 2013 TOBY competition. And, I encourage the 2012 winners to enter their property in the Regional competition. Contact the executive office to learn more about that level of competition.
The annual holiday party will take place on Dec 12 at On20 (Polytech Club) from 5:30-7:30pm. Again this year, we ask all attendees to bring an unwrapped toy for the Marines Toys for Tots campaign. This worthy charity helps many children in the area have a great holiday.
2013 programming is being developed now. The program committee has been working diligently to bring some of the best speakers to the group, along with some new topics and networking socials.
Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with friends and family.
