BOMA: Trolley Tour and TOBY & Industry Award call for entries

The BOMA Boston Engineering Committee is busy with summer programming! On Friday, June 19, BOMA Boston hosted a Tech Tour of Digital Realty's Data Center in Needham. Bill Bentley and Greg Moulton of Digital Realty guided the tour, which included a behind-the-scenes look at their cooling shafts, UPS rooms, CRAH gallery, generator room, and point of prescience (POP) room. This month, the BOMA Boston Engineers will also host a tour of Harpoon Brewery on Thursday, July 23, which will include a behind-the-scenes look at their facility and CHP Plant. Immediately following the tour, there will be a networking reception in Harpoon Brewery's Beer Hall. On Wednesday, June 24, the BOMA Emerging Professionals Committee hosted a Trolley Tour of the ever-developing Seaport District. Over 50 members and non-member boarded two trolleys for a committee-member led tour of A St., The Ink Block, D St., Fan Pier and Fort Point. The tour ended with a cocktail reception at Barlows. According to BOMA Boston, the 2015 BOMA TOBY & Industry Awards Call for Entries are now open. Each year, the TOBY & Industry Awards recognize the best and brightest in property management, building operations, and service in the real estate industry. There are 16 categories for The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) awards, and 9 categories for the Industry Awards. Since the TOBYs are a nationally recognized award, the local winners move on to regional competition, and hopefully International competition. Winners at the local level receive visibility at the Awards Dinner, BOMA Boston website, and local trade publications. Deadline for all nominations and building entries: Monday, September 14. The winners will be announced at the annual TOBY & Industry Awards at Westin Copley Place on Thursday, November 19. For more information on the awards program and/or the submission and nomination process, please visit the TOBY & Industry Awards website at www.bomaboston.org.
