Boston Realty Advisors brokers $3.5 million sale of 493-497 Commonwealth Avenue

Boston Realty Advisors (BRA) has sold the former J.S Waterman Funeral Home in Kenmore Sq. for $3.5 million. Jason Weissman and Chris Sower from Boston Realty Advisors handled the sale. A national publicly traded REIT retained BRA to handle the sale of the asset. The building, 493-497 Commonwealth Ave., is in Kenmore Sq. and is situated at the convergence of Beacon St. and Commonwealth Ave. Nemon Corp. was the buyer and Commonwealth Avenue LLC was the seller. BRA represented both sides of the transaction The building housed the famous J.S. Waterman Funeral Directors from 1921 to 2005. The building was built in 1895 and was designed by the architecture team of Arthur H. Vinal and Howard Walker. Christopher Sower, managing director and partner of BRA said, "We had great interest in the property during our marketing process. Both the buyer and seller were great to work with." Jason S. Weissman, principal and founder of Boston Realty Advisors added, "This was an exciting opportunity for us to work on this assignment, the asset's high profile location and elegant architectural detail, generated significant interest from the marketplace."
