Bowdoin Construction completes 40,000 s/f Cantata Tech. headquarters and 46,800 s/f South Area Solomon Schechter School

Bowdoin Construction recently completed the fi-tout of this new 40,000 s/f office and engineering headquarters for Cantata Technology. The project required a fast track approach and Bowdoin worked in conjunction with Cantata, Diversified Project Management and Black Cow Architects from the inception of design through to construction completion. The building received a new sprinkler system, MEP upgrades, all new hard-wall offices, open cubicle space, and several labs which utilized an Inergen fire suppression system. The fit-out also included a new lobby, fitness center and cafeteria. All construction was completed in twelve weeks. And in Norwood, Bowdoin recently completed the adaptive reuse and expansion of a former corporate campus into a new 46,800 s/f private K-8 school for the South Area Solomon Schechter Day School (SASSDS). Founded in 1989, this conservative Jewish day school grew from 23 to 230 students, and had outgrown their former location in Stoughton. In 2006, SASSDS acquired the 4.6 acre property at One Commerce Way and retained Design Partnership and Bowdoin to work as a team to design and build their new home. Bowdoin provided pre-construction budgeting, scheduling and safety planning services as well as full general contracting and construction management services for the new coeducational school. The project involved the comprehensive renovation of 35,400 s/f of space into classrooms, science labs and offices. It also involved the new construction of a 7,200 s/f gymnasium and a 4,200 s/f connecting structure to house art and music rooms, storage, a kitchen, toilet rooms, offices, a corridor, and a vestibule. In August, the school relocated right on schedule in time for the start of the school year. Bowdoin Construction is one of the region's leading construction managers providing comprehensive pre-construction and construction management services for private institutions and commercial properties throughout New England.
