After two years, the property at 2291-2307 Post Rd., on the corner of Sasco Hill Rd., has finally begun its transformation from a rundown retail and apartment building put up decades ago to a brand new retail and office building.
The new building will have approximately 19,500 s/f on two floors housing retail and office spaces with both surface and underground parking. It was designed by Eric Michaels and Sharon Ranney of Ranney Michaels Architects, in Westport, who will also manage the construction of the building with their associate, Greg Pierson on site. The project should be completed in spring of 2013.
Torrey Brooks, chairman of Brooks, Torrey & Scott, Inc., the management company of the property's owner, One Sasco Hill LLC, said that leasing of the new building has exceeded expectations, probably due to its border location between Southport and Fairfield and the site has been termed, "the gateway to Fairfield."
