Bulfinch hires Berry as assistant vice president, senior financial analyst

Boston, MA The Bulfinch Companies, Inc. (Bulfinch) has hired Ronald Berry as the firm’s assistant vice president, senior financial analyst. The appointment of Berry supports Bulfinch’s recent team growth of strategic hires in line with the firm’s Drive to 2025 strategic plan focused on disciplined portfolio expansion, team growth, diversity, equity + inclusion, and sustainability.

Berry joins Bulfinch with more than 15 years of planned giving, development and donor relations experience. Most recently, Berry served as the vice president, co-head of relationship management at State Street Global Advisors Charitable Asset Management. In his role at State Street, he was the principal client-service contact advising on the strategy and administration of planned giving programs for large organizations across the United States.

Prior to State Street, Berry was the senior associate of donor relations for Harvard Management Company where he was the primary contact for constituents regarding all charitable trusts, gift annuities, and pooled income fund gifts.

Additionally, Berry served as senior development officer for the department of biology at Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he helped to increase annual dollars raised by nearly 400%. Berry also served in multiple roles at Harvard University including the regional director for leadership gifts at Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.

and as a planned giving coordinator at Harvard University. He began his career with multiple research positions at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Program on Education, Policy, and Governance.

Drawing from his extensive experience working with non-profits, institutions and environmental groups, Ronald will serve as Co-Chair of the company’s new community giving program entitled Bulfinch Engage. The new initiative serves as a vehicle to encourage and empower the Bulfinch Team to actively participate in all areas of civic engagement. Key components include philanthropic fundraising and grant-making, expansion of strategic relationships with nonprofits and select service work projects.
