Bulfinch names Yang as the firm’s new COO

Boston, MA The Bulfinch Companies, Inc. (Bulfinch) has hired Pamela Yang, CFA, CPA, CMGA, as the firm’s new chief operating officer. Yang will guide daily operations for Bulfinch, including assisting with strategic planning, overseeing the Boston office, and working closely with the financial reporting team and Bulfinch ownership. 

Yang brings more than 25 years of financial and investment experience with her to Bulfinch. Most recently, Yang served as managing director, head of charitable asset management, at State Street Global Advisors. Prior to joining State Street, Yang spent more than 18 years in several financial and leadership capacities at Harvard Management Company, Inc., including senior vice president, head of trust investments and operations, helping guide the company through substantial growth during her tenure. Pamela began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a senior associate in business assurance.

“This new, yet critical role is consistent with Bulfinch’s ‘Drive to 2025’ strategic plan of portfolio and team growth to ensure continued success and expansion for the company in 2021 and beyond,” says Eric Schlager, CEO of Bulfinch. “Pamela’s extensive financial, investment, and operations experience, as well as proven track-record of visionary corporate leadership, positions her to be a valued asset and key member of our team as we continue to broaden our portfolio.” 

Yang represents another strategic hire for Bulfinch as the Company continues to expand. Since 2019, Bulfinch has added more than ten employees, including several key C-Suite roles, most recently, Joelle Denham as CFO during the fourth quarter of 2020.

Yang holds an MBA and an MS in Accounting from Northeastern University, a Bachelor of Arts in French from Beijing Foreign Studies University, and a Master of Arts in French Literature from University of Cincinnati. She is a former Chair of the Board of CFA Society Boston, an active volunteer at the CFA Institute, and a member of The Boston Economic Club. Yang also currently serves on the Board of Advisors at Boston Ballet.
