Burgess Properties Inc. completes a 15,000 s/f lease with Chelsea Clock at 105 Second St. Phil Burgess of Burgess Properties represented Chelsea Clock and Greg Klemmer of Colliers International represented the landlord, The Simboli Properties.
After 116 years in the same location on Everett Ave., a proposed redevelopment of Chelsea Clock's existing building, in conjunction with adjoining parcels, necessitated the move.
"We had a primary focus of remaining in Chelsea and ideally wanted a building with character, so we were fortunate to come across Greg's listing at 105 Second Street" said Burgess. "With limited options in the city, to find another historic building that worked for Chelsea Clock was fortuitous timing."
Chelsea Clocks are an American icon ubiquitous on the bridges of US Navy ships and boats around the world. They are presented as gifts to heads of state at the White House and represent the finest in American craftsmanship and manufacturing.
105 Second St. is owned by The Simboli Props. After a top-to-bottom rehab, Chelsea Clock will be relocating later this fall and will occupy the entirety of the building.
