Burlington, MA At the Annual CAI New England (CAI-NE) Chapter Dinner and Awards Banquet, held March 21st at the Boston Marriott Hotel, hundreds of condominium association board members, professional managers, and business partners gathered to recognize the industry contributions and achievements of peers and colleagues around New England.
The chapter congratulates and applauds this year’s award winners.
Charles A. Perkins Jr. Volunteer of the Year Award: David Barrett, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
In memory of CAI member Charlie Perkins, the award annually honors and recognizes Charlie’s longstanding contributions to the industry, CAI and the New England Chapter. The award is presented to a member who demonstrates a commitment to volunteering their time and expertise in supporting CAI goals and mission and advancing the education of community association volunteer leaders and professional association managers. The Charles A. Perkins Jr. Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to David Barrett, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, president of RCM Services.
CAI Legislative Achievement Award: Edmund Allcock, Esq., CCAL
Working to seek legislative changes that advance the industry on a national level as well as protecting the interests of community associations around the chapter, the Legislative Achievement Award was presented to Ed Allcock, Esq., CCAL, partner in the firm Allcock & Marcus, LLC for his advocacy and countless hours spent challenging the constitutionality of the Corporate Transparency Act. The CAI national lobbying effort to seek industry exemption from the CTA is the most historic legislative effort undertaken by the institute.
Excellence in CAI-NE Education: Candice Morse, ARM, CPM
Contributing valuable chapter educational content and programming for association managers and board members, the Excellence in CAI-NE Education was awarded to Candice Morse, ARM, CPM, president of Thayer & Associates, Inc., AMO. Candice spearheaded several educational sessions and conversations for New England condominiums around building maintenance and capital project management.
CAI-NE Chapter Committee Member of the Year: Pamela Jonah, Esq.
Chapter committees and members are the lifeblood of CAI New England. Pamela Jonah with Marcus, Errico, Emmer & Brooks, P.C. was recognized for her contributions as Chair of the Emerging Leaders Network (ELN) Committee and creating new and innovative member networking opportunities that engage professionals and foster industry connections.
Community Association of the Year (Medium Size Association): Brix Condominium
In the Medium Size Association category board members from the Brix Condominium in Salem, MA were applauded and awarded the Community Association of the Year Award in the Medium Size Association category for their ongoing achievements and contributions that positively impact the community and residents.
Community Association of the Year (Large Size Association): Huntington Wood Condominium
In the Large Association Category, the award went to Huntington Wood Condominium in Peabody, MA. The association board was recognized for fostering a thriving, inclusive and fiscally responsible community. In addition to maintaining financial stability, they consistently bring residents together through thoughtfully organized events and programs.
Unsung Hero: Nick Aronis
The Unsung Hero award honors those who work quietly, behind the scenes, not always getting credit for the contributions they make. The award was presented to Nick Aronis, maintenance superintendent at Strada 234 Condominium Association in Boston, MA for his professionalism and commitment to the community and residents. He was praised for carrying out all his responsibilities at a level that is consistently above and beyond expectations.
Community Association Manager Rising Star: Chadam Pires
Described as a true team player, always eager to support colleagues, share knowledge, and innovative solutions to challenges, Chadam Pires with American Properties Team, in Woburn, MA was recognized with the Community Association Manager Rising Star Award. In addition to her passion for the industry, commitment to growth and ability to make a meaningful impact, she is highly regarded by her clients, owners and peers for her attention to detail, proactive communication and commitment to excellence.
Community Association Manager of the Year: Debbie Davie, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
The Manager of the Year award spotlights an individual who furthers the goals and objectives of client associations. Award winner Debbie Davie, CMCA, AMS, PCAM with Brigs, LLC was nominated by board members, clients and peers, and was praised for the care she shows for the community and residents, and for her dedication in finding solutions. She was also recognized for her industry expertise and knowledge having obtained professional manager designations including CMCA, AMS and PCAM, the highest professional certification awarded by CAI.
