Callahan begins work on Parkway Apts. for Lincoln Property Co.

West Roxbury, MA Callahan Construction Managers (Callahan) commenced on a new, multifamily development located at 1545 & 1555 VFW Parkway. The project is owned and developed by Lincoln Property Co. and was designed by SK+I Architecture, the project includes two detached, four-story multifamily buildings with a mix of market rate and affordable housing.

The project will feature 254 units between the two buildings for a total of 372,823 s/f. Also included are 387 garage parking spaces in a five-level precast garage, along with an outdoor pool, exterior courtyard, fitness center, café, and pet spa.

While following all the COVID-19 protocols, Callahan and their subcontractors are currently working on underground utilities and foundations. They began with the erection of the precast garage beginning the first week in August and framing is to follow later this month. The project was shut down for two months due to the COVID-19 construction halt in Boston and reopened on May 18th.

“We are excited to announce another collaboration with Lincoln Property Company and SKI+I Architecture as we bring additional residential opportunities to Boston,” said Patrick Callahan, president of Callahan Construction. “The team is excited to be making progress and is taking an enthusiastic approach to working in the new normal with heightened safety protocols.”

Callahan has a long-standing partnership with developer Lincoln Property Co., and together, the companies most recently completed Edison on the Charles in Waltham. The Parkway Apartments are targeting LEED Gold certification and are expected to be completed in February 2022.
