Upland Woods Apartments - Norwood, MA

Campanelli, in partnership with Thorndike Development, broke ground on the new Upland Woods Apartments. The 262-unit apartment community will be ready to move in its first residents during the summer of 2015 and is expected to be complete early the following year. Upland Woods Apartments will feature a wide range of apartment styles arranged in seven, four-story buildings each with elevator service along with a clubhouse, pool, and a wide range of other amenities.
"This community has been laid out based on the principles of Traditional Neighborhood Design. People who value neighborhood and community will find Upland Woods Apartments to be cut from a different cloth," said Lloyd Geisinger, president of Thorndike Development. The neighborhood features tree lined streets with sidewalks, inviting public spaces perfect for an early morning walk and integrated garages accessed from rear alleys reminiscent of Boston's Back Bay.

The Upland Woods Apartments will be located on 24-acres of an 82-acre campus that Campanelli has owned for more than a decade.
Originally the creation of Edwin Land the founder of Polaroid, the Upland Woods Campus features pathways, walking trails and hundreds of mature trees that will enrich the living experience of everyone at Upland Woods Apartments.
"The need for apartment homes in the Commonwealth is tremendous. Not everyone can afford to buy a single-family home, so we need to create housing opportunities for those families" said Judy Jacobson, deputy director of Massachusetts Housing Partnership. "We commend the Town of Norwood for being part of the housing solution and are very confident that the Campanelli and Thorndike team will provide great quality housing in this community."
Both Campanelli and Thorndike Development have extensive residential experience; collectively having built and sold many thousands of homes over a combined career that spans six decades. Campanelli's founding brothers famously built over 30,000 ranch homes in United States commonly known as the "Campanelli Ranch" post-World War II. In addition, Campanelli has developed over 20 million s/f of commercial real estate since the company's founding in 1947.
"Campanelli has a long history of working closely and cooperatively with the town of Norwood and with the Upland Woods neighbors. We are committed to delivering an attractive neighborhood that will benefit not just those who choose to reside at Upland Woods but all of Norwood and the surrounding communities" said Dan DeMarco, partner of Campanelli.
