Freetown, MA Campanelli Construction, a full-service construction management company with over 70-years of experience, will build a medical marijuana cultivation center totaling 160,000 s/f for AmeriCann, Inc. at the Campanelli Business Park. AmeriCann purchased the 53-acre property in 2016. The company plans to develop the property as the Massachusetts Medical Cannabis Center (the MMCC), which is expected to be one of the largest and most technologically advanced cannabis cultivation facilities in the nation. The sustainable greenhouse project will consist of multiple planned phases; the first phase will include two buildings at 130,000 and 30,000 s/f and the second phase is permitted for an additional 800,000 s/f based on patient demand. Campanelli will break ground on the first phase in the first quarter of 2017 and AmeriCann’s tenants plan to have cannabis in production by fall of 2017.

To date, medical cannabis is now legal in a majority of the United States with 28 states sanctioning the production and sale of cannabis.
