CCIM hosts 2014 Connecticut Commercial Real Estate Symposium

The Connecticut Chapter of the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) Institute held its 2014 Connecticut Commercial Real Estate Symposium at the Great River Golf Club on July 16th. The keynote speaker was Ted C. Jones, Ph.D., chief economist at Stewart Title, followed by a panel presentation featuring Catherine Smith, commissioner of the State of CT DECD; Adam Winstanley, founder and principal, Winstanley Enterprises; Tim Breda, principal, Goedecke & Co. and Carl Russell, CCIM, SIOR of H. Pearce Real Estate. The panel discussion was moderated by 2013 CCIM Institute president Wayne D'Amico, CCIM of Re/Max Right Choice. 120 registered attendees included real estate brokers, appraisers, property managers, developers, engineers, bankers, real estate attorneys and accountants from the Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, Middlesex and the New London county markets. The topics centered on Connecticut's current economy and the commercial/industrial real estate climate. The panel presentation was followed by questions from the audience. An informative and entertaining program was enjoyed by all and plans are already under way for next year's symposium.
