Chairperson's message: Upcoming and past events

July 02, 2008 - Owners Developers & Managers
The year is in full swing with successful completion of two educational seminars, increased participation in our monthly meetings, a record breaking expo, and an outstanding 50th Anniversary Reception, a preview to the 50th Anniversary Gala, which will be held on October 18th at the Seaport World Trade Center.
The Security Expo was a rounding success with outstanding presentations from Hank Nolin, CPP, CAS, CHSlll, Norman Bates, Esq., Todd McGhee, and Rita Katz.
The exhibits were overflowing with state-of-the-art products, demonstrations, and information. This year was the best year to date with attendance and exhibitor participation. I extend the Chapter's thanks and appreciation to our generous sponsors.
The 50th Anniversary Reception set a celebratory tone with Bonnie Michelman, CPP guiding us on a walk down memory lane with Dennis Crowley, John O'Neill, and Richard Barry. The night was filled with reminiscences, humor and a strong sense of camaraderie as old friendships were renewed and new ones begun.

The 2008 Directory has an updated look and will be a valuable resource to all. We expect the directory to be finalized and distributed over the next several weeks.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for the October 18th 50th Anniversary Gala. This affair promised to be like nothing we have experienced before.
I hope that the chapter's goals of increasing the number, time and location, and variety of offerings is successful in revitalizing members who have not been very active over the past years while meeting the expectations of our new members. On behalf of the executive board, our continued recognition of the value each one of you brings to our organization. I encourage open lines of communication, so please feel free to contact me or any of the board members with ideas and suggestions. We encourage you to share your views and goals for the chapter and welcome any member who wishes to become more active to join the volunteer board.

Phil Stewart, CPP, is the 2008 chairman of ASIS Boston chapter, Needham, Mass.
