Philip Chen has been named principal of Ann Beha Architects.
Chen's role as principal recognizes his eighteen years of innovative design, management and technical leadership for academic, cultural and civic clients throughout the United States.
Chen is currently leading projects at the University of Chicago, The Pennsylvania State University, the Massachusetts State House, and at Rhode Island's historic Fort Adams. At the University of Pennsylvania, he led the award-winning Music Building, creating a new center for Music Education and Performance, and completing the first LEED Silver project on Penn's historic campus. Chen has led planning and design projects for Historic Deerfield, the National Women's Hall of Fame and Museum, and the city of Boston.
Chen's design vision explores and confirms the interface between heritage and award-winning contemporary design, providing dynamic new opportunities for campuses and urban community settings.
