Fairhaven, MA The CIC Companies of Massachusetts is nearing the completion of the site development and construction of a new 10,000 s/f medical building. The single-story project is a stand-alone build-to-suit for Fresenius Medical Care of Waltham.  The site is adjacent to Walgreen’s and Frontera Mexican Grill and is located at the intersection of Rtes. 6 and 240.  On behalf of the property owner, Rick Barnes of CIC marketed the site, found the tenant, negotiated the lease, secured the financing and is overseeing the build-to-suit construction of Fresenius.  CIC will continue to manage the property for the owner.

Rick Barnes, principal of CIC, originally assembled and developed the 6 acre site in 2002 for Walgreen’s and Uno’s Restaurant. The development included a future pad site on which Fresenius is now being built. The property was later sold in 2005 to TMI Properties of Lake Tahoe. CIC continues to manage and operate the property for TMI.  After Uno’s vacated the property in 2011, CIC secured the casual themed restaurant chain, Frontera Mexican Grill, of Charlotte. “Frontera opened last year and is doing very well at this location” according to Rick. Now with the near completion of Fresenius, the project will be 100% leased.  An additional 10,000 s/f retail building is being considered by CIC, and could be ready for occupancy as early as fall 2016.

The CIC Companies, founded in 1979 by Richard Barnes, has been active in permitting, leasing, building and selling shopping centers and single-tenant net leased investment properties throughout the country.
