Colliers International handles 30,000 s/f office/classroom lease for Conservatory Lab Charter School

Colliers International has arranged the lease of 30,000 s/f of office and classroom space for the Conservatory Lab Charter School (CLCS) at the former Laboure Nursing College, located at 2120 Dorchester Ave. on the Steward/Carney Hospital Campus. CLCS is currently a K1-6 public charter school located at St. Columbkille School in Brighton. CLCS is in the process of expanding to become a K-12 school and requires temporary space for its lower school as it searches for a location to build an academic institution to house all grade levels. According to Colliers senior vice president Robert Cronin, CLCS will relocate the lower school to 2120 Dorchester Ave. in June and will operate at this facility until a new 50,000 s/f K1-12 facility is built in the Roxbury/Dorchester/Jamaica Plain area. Colliers represented both the landlord and the tenant in this transaction and has also been engaged by CLCS to secure a replacement development site. "The most daunting task was securing CLCS a very specific type of space in a very specific target market. Location is important for an academic institution, and we were very pleased with the success of this deal," said Cronin.
