March 11, 2022 - National News

Apopka, FL Commercial America Properties has negotiated the sale of an area restaurant.  Founded by the late Sam Meiner, the Bubbalous Bodacious Barbecue at 1701 Rock Springs Rd., closed within three weeks of contract.  Situated on an outparcel in the Publix anchored Wekiva Plaza, the restaurant has been a mainstay in the market for almost 20 years. Meiner created the barbeque concept almost 30 years ago, eventually opening seven restaurants throughout Central Florida.

Orange County public records indicate that the 5,146 s/f restaurant sold for $1.575 million or $313 per gross s/f, as a fee simple property. According to Robin Webb, CCIM, the broker with Commercial America Properties, which represented the seller, the purchaser was V 3 Apopka Restaurant, an affiliate of V3 Capital, that was represented by Jeff Tanner and Kim Manson of V 3 Commercial Advisors.

According to Manson, V 3  will lease the restaurant to El Cielito Lindo, which is under the same ownership as Habaneros Mexican Grills. Renovations are now underway with an anticipated opening in the second quarter of 2022.
