Summit Metal Fabricators has over 40,000 s/f of fabrication space and access up to 150,000 s/f. The fabrication areas are supported by 6 overhead bridge cranes, numerous access doors and tens of acres of exterior storage and lay down area.

The new office space, which was built by Methuen Construction, has 36,000 s/f that houses teammates of all three divisions. The new office building has high-efficiency lighting throughout, a new 4,000 AMP electrical service and all new gas service. There are two floors of offices with wireless connectivity throughout, along with a training center with a state-of-the-art audio/video system. The office building also boasts numerous spacious conference rooms and three break/lunch rooms with kitchenettes.

Methuen Construction hosted a ribbon cutting event on October 18, which included NH governor Maggie Hassan, NH senate president Chuck Morse, Plaistow town manager Sean Fitzgerald, NH representative Norm Major, Plaistow selectmen chairman Steve Ranlett, Plaistow planning board member Mike Dorman and NH Division of Economic Development business development manager Cynthia Harrington. Additionally, over 150 people attended this great occasion including members of the Plaistow police and fire departments, planning board, budget committee, board of selectmen, town employees and other state and local dignitaries, along with Methuen Construction and Summit Metal Fabricators teammates.

The festivities were kicked off by president and CEO of Methuen Construction, Joe Barbone who mentioned how proud and excited Methuen Construction and Summit Metal Fabricators are to be in this beautiful facility that will serve them well for many years into the future. He then introduced the head table starting with governor Hassan, followed by Leon Asadoorian whose parents Leon and Elizabeth Asadoorian founded Methuen Construction in 1960 in Methuen, Mass. Leon lead the company for over 40 years, providing the vision and leadership to build Methuen Construction into the outstanding company that it is today.

Barbone introduced the other members of the head table: Morse, Harrington, Ranlett, Major, Dorman and Fitzgerald. Ranlett then spoke highlighting the economic benefits that Methuen Construction brings town and Southern NH. He also mentioned the role that governor Hassan has played in bringing economic development and jobs to NH. He closed by stating how excited Plaistow is about the addition of Methuen Construction to the Plaistow business community. Next up was Harrington who congratulated Methuen Construction on the new facility and the 250 jobs that will come to the town.

Barbone then introduced governor Hassan highlighting the role she has played in developing a business climate that supports many companies including Methuen Construction and its expansion and growth. The governor thanked Barbone and the Plaistow town government that worked so hard and diligently to bring Methuen Construction and Summit Metal Fabricators to the beautiful new facility in Plaistow. She stressed that it was a real team effort between the legislature, local officials and Methuen Construction that resulted in the move to Plaistow and the growth of the company.

Following the governor’s comments, the entire group proceeded to the main entrance of the new facility for the ribbon cutting ceremony and a tour of the new facility.

Methuen Construction and Summit Metal Fabricators recently had their annual Family Outing at their new facility. The outing was originally to be held outside of the 190,000 s/f facility in the large parking lot. However, the weather got in the way in the form of rain, lots of rain.

The facility is so large that the entire outing for 300 attendees was moved inside Bay D, which is larger than a football field with 50’ ceilings and large overhead doors.

Teammates and their families enjoyed the following at the indoor outing:

• 4 food and beverage trucks;

• A dessert station with fried dough, cotton candy, caramel apples and more;

• Live band;

• 3 bounce houses, one with a slide;

• A climbing wall staffed with professional climbing instructors;

• Face painting station;

• Pumpkin decorating station;

• Photo booth;

• High striker game (ring the bell);

• Corn hole and ladderball competitions;

• Chainsaw artist (the art created was raffled off at the end of the event);

• Touch a truck (outside) which included the Plaistow Fire Department with their large ladder truck, excavators, MC’s beautiful Peterbuilt rig, antique tractor and many other pieces of construction equipment.

•When it wasn’t raining, there were hay rides and pony rides.

Despite the weather, everyone had a great day, especially the young children – and the not so young children.
