The Simon Konover Company (TSKC) and its Team Simon Konover raised over $150,000 in the 2013 Camp Challenge Ride & Bandit 5K campaign to benefit The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
The Camp Challenge Ride & Bandit 5K is an annual charity cycling and walking event held each fall to benefit the camp. On November 13, TSKC and Team Simon Konover presented its fundraising results at a celebratory luncheon held at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. Raising over $150,000, Team Simon Konover was the highest producing team in the 2013 event. Since its inception in 2009, Team Simon Konover has raised a cumulative total of nearly $500,000 through the Camp Challenge Ride.
"With the generous support of our strategic partners, colleagues, associates, and friends, the 2013 campaign was our most successful ever," said James Wakim, president and chief operating officer of The Simon Konover Company. "We are so grateful to all the individuals and organizations who joined Team Simon Konover in our commitment to this camp and these special kids."
Team Simon Konover is comprised of company employees and business associates who support and participate in the Camp Challenge Ride and Bandit 5K. Over 125 individuals and organizations joined Team Simon Konover for this year's campaign. Thirty-four companies contributing $1,000 or more to the team were recognized at the November 13 luncheon. In addition, Peter Mason, CHA executive vice president of Konover Hotel Corp., was recognized as the top individual fundraiser.
Team Simon Konover Strategic Partners, contributing $5,000 or more, include Ameriscape, LLC, Cohn Reznick, Connecticut Apartment Association, Haynes Construction Company, KBE Building Corporation, Outlook Development Group, LLC, Mr. Rooter, Servpro of New Haven, Shipman & Goodwin LLP, and Smith Brothers Insurance, Inc.
TSKC's involvement with The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp began in 1987 when Simon Konover donated the construction management services as he constructed the original Camp facilities. Since that time, TSKC, as well as the Konover and Coppa families, have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to the camp as an active sponsor of the camp's Annual Fandango Benefit Gala, the Space & Aviation Day, as well as the Camp Challenge Ride. In addition, Jane Konover Coppa, chief executive officer of TSKC, is a member of the camp's board of advisors.
