April 09, 2008 - Spotlights
ConEdison Solutions, one of America's leading energy service providers, has signed a contract to provide electricity supply to Boston's TD Banknorth Garden, one of the most well-known sports and entertainment complexes in the nation.
As a state-licensed provider of electricity, ConEdison Solutions worked with the management team at Delaware North Companies, Inc. - Boston and its consultant to develop a supply contract for the Garden.  ConEdison Solutions' expertise in energy enabled TD Banknorth Garden to generate savings by taking advantage of the site's unique energy usage patterns.
ConEdison Solutions officials forecast that, based upon historical usage, TD Banknorth Garden can expect to experience a 15% to 20% cost savings versus the applicable utility rate.
"As a national pacesetter in sports and entertainment, it should come as no surprise that the TD Banknorth Garden is also an innovator with respect to energy supplies," said Jorge Lopez, president and CEO of ConEdison Solutions.  "The management of this world-class arena recognizes that today's deregulated energy marketplace provides substantial opportunities for savings.  With the steadily increasing cost of energy, choosing the right supplier can yield big benefits.  We are pleased that Delaware North Companies, Inc. - Boston chose us."
The state of the art TD Banknorth Gardens is a year-round, 19,600 seat arena, fully equipped with three private restaurants - Banners, Legends and The Premium Club, 90 executive suites, 1,100 club seats, a multi-million dollar video scoreboard (Garden HDX) and complete 360-degree LED technology.
Since its grand opening in 1995, more than 24 million people have come to the TD Banknorth Garden to see the arena's famous tenants - the NHL's Boston Bruins and NBA's Boston Celtics, as well as concerts, sporting events, family shows, wrestling, ice shows and more.
