Consigli completes 43,000 s/f Cultural Center at Eagle Hill School

The Eagle Hill School and Consigli Construction Co., Inc. have completed the $15 million Cultural Center at Eagle Hill. Flanking the quad and serving as the architectural and programmatic introduction to the campus, the 43,000 s/f Cultural Center houses the Abby Theatre, a 457-seat proscenium theatre that features high-end acoustical sound and stage communication systems, green room and dressing rooms for performers, cinema-quality projection system, wireless microphones and a steeply raked house that allows all patrons to become a part of the performance. Among other performance areas, the Kresge Studio Theatre stands out as a flexible space that utilizes portable risers, an overhead grid theatrical lighting system and a catwalk system on all walls that can be used for both technical and theatrical purposes. The Cultural Center, designed by Lamoureux Pagano & Assoc., also includes a 500-seat dining and function hall, art exhibition spaces, classrooms and computer labs for visual and graphic arts, a music classroom and recording studio, a 2,000 s/f woodshop, 900 s/f of art studio space, reception areas, an outdoor patio and an outdoor amphitheater. Consigli's own self-perform workforce built the building's foundation, and installed millwork, siding, windows and doors.
