Consigli completes 6,000 s/f expansion at Seven Hillls Academy

Seven Hills Academy completed an expansion to its facility in Devens, Mass., and added several sustainable components to create a healthier, more efficient educational environment. Overseen by Consigli Construction Co., Inc. and Monahon Architects, the 6,000 s/f addition provides Seven Hills Academy with expanded space for teachers and students.     Sustainable features include: energy efficient light fixtures and windows; occupancy sensors; and air handling units with zoned programmable thermostats.  All HVAC and plumbing systems, as well as the building's envelop, meet or exceed the requirements of the Mass. State Energy Code.  The Consigli team implemented a comprehensive construction and demolition waste reduction plan, achieving a 91% recycling rate.   Additionally, all asphalt from the existing parking lot was ground and taken to a local recycling plant, as was all office scrap paper.
