Creating a Buzz: Acquia moves into the city - November 18 at 5:30 p.m.

November 06, 2015 - Owners Developers & Managers

Boston, MA After more than six years in the suburbs, Acquia made the bold decision to relocate its headquarters from their Burlington office to a downtown Boston high-rise (Exchange Place) at 53 State St.

Right in the city’s financial district, Exchange Place doubles the capacity for Acquia’s global headquarters and provides ample space to support the company’s growth. Leadership believed this move was not only critical in terms of space but also in attracting tech talent and setting the company up for an IPO.

A unique cultural feature of Acquia is the contagious “buzz/energy” that the team creates, a trademark the CEO felt strongly about enhancing. In order to showcase this core feature, the boisterous 120 person community and gaming space was given an open concept design directly adjacent to the reception area, interconnecting stairs and a board room for all visitors to enjoy and observe.

Additionally, private offices were eliminated and each employee has a sit-to-stand benching station to encourage open communication. The team also utilizes the “race track” for walking meetings…eleven laps equals one mile!

Come join IFMA to hear more about this impactful transformation! Learn how the construction team produced and sourced local items, all within 320 miles of Boston, to help them complete the project in just 14 weeks!

Panel Members: • Iramis Audet from Packard Design; • Jim Davis from Cushman & Wakefield; and • Jamie Audette from Elaine Construction.
