Colliers International has brokered the sale of a 110-acre site known as "Warren Woods" located on Chestnut St. and Eliot St. Senior vice president Robert Cronin represented the seller, Northeastern University, and the buyer, the town of Ashland. Public records list the sale price for the 110-acre site at $4 million.
Northeastern was gifted the Warren Woods site in the 1970s with intention of expanding its Warren Conference Center & Inn campus located across Chestnut St. from the Warren Woods site.
Cronin said, "Although a number of very qualified development firms submitted purchase proposals, Northeastern felt that the 'right' thing to do was to sell the property to the town of Ashland so that the local community can benefit from this wonderful open-space resource for many years to come. It was a beneficial transaction for both the buyer and the seller."
