The Greater Meredith Program (GMP) awarded Crosspoint Associates' 70,000 s/f Meredith Bay Shops its award for Best New Development Project in 2008 at its annual meeting on January 16. "The Greater Meredith Program's board of directors is very pleased to recognize Crosspoint Assoc. with the 2008 Best New Development Project award," said Rusty McLear, past president & economic development chair of the Greater Meredith Program. "Crosspoint Associates was a true partner with the community in building a first-class development.  Meredith Bay Shops not only enhances our community's New England character, but also meets the needs of our residents."
Crosspoint Assoc. purchased the former Meredith Village Shops in the first quarter of 2007. At that time, the center was over 65% vacant and was suffering from years of neglect.
Crosspoint planned a full revitalization and expansion of the shopping center to include a new, full-service 30,000 s/f grocery store, the first of its kind in Meredith. Construction began in December of 2007, and Hannaford Brothers opened a brand new, full-service grocery store on November 14, 2008 - just 11 months after demolition on the former building began. The total investment to the shopping center was well over $10 million and created 300 construction jobs and 100 new permanent full- and part-time jobs in the community.
Other tenants in the center include Rite Aid, Olympia Sports, BarnZ's Cinema, Dockside Florist, Meredith Cleaners and Lakes Region Nutrition.
"In partnership with Hannaford Brothers, Crosspoint was able to provide a much needed full-service grocery store to Meredith, the first of its kind in this community," said Bryan Furze, Crosspoint's director of acquisitions & development. "Crosspoint is extremely proud to be a member of Meredith, a lake shore community that has made substantial investments to become a destination on Lake Winnipesaukee. We worked very hard to reflect the town's character in our own design to create an inviting place to visit and shop."
Meredith Bay Shops was designed to compliment the overall aesthetic of Meredith, a community located on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee that has undergone substantial investment over the past decade. The entire property is now designed with Adirondack-inspired architecture, including natural wood truss work, entry-way, dormers, classic period-style lighting and a stone façade.

The Greater Meredith Program (GMP) is a non-profit community economic development organization dedicated to enhancing economic vitality, historical and cultural heritage, and town-wide beautification. GMP is a Main St. community, a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. GMP is also a member of the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority Downtown Resource Center, which provides technical assistance, training and advice. The GMP board of directors is made up of community leaders and town officials who volunteer their time and expertise to advance the mission of the organization.
Established in 1989, Crosspoint Assoc. specializes in the ownership, management and development of supermarket anchored retail properties, community shopping centers, mixed use properties, office properties and industrial properties throughout New England.
