Cummings Properties TradeCenter 128, the new 550,000 s/f complex, has leased one building, consisting of 150,000 s/f, to the Commonwealth of Mass. for its new Middlesex County Superior Court. According to state officials, the court expects to move from Cambridge to its new facility this month.
The law offices of Cohn & Dussi have leased 6,000 s/f and are scheduled to move to TradeCenter 128 from their Burlington location later this summer. Cohn & Dussi was represented by Rob Kinlin from CB Richard Ellis/New England, and leasing director Derek Cook represented Cummings Properties.
According to Cummings VP Eric Anderson, "now that the court is ready to move in, the number of law firms seeking space information has multiplied rapidly since the beginning of the year."
However, the first company to move into the larger building will be BCD Travel USA, LLC. The company leased 8,500 s/f and is scheduled to move in May. Debra Stevens of The Stevens Group, Inc. represented BCD, and Cummings Properties was represented by Cook.
One local bank has already signed on with a 2,000 s/f lease, and another larger, international bank is actively seeking both a retail branch, as well as an amount of back office space where it expects to relocate some of its staff from downtown Boston.
The complex will also house a 1,000 s/f lobby shop. Anderson said, "We fully expect that TradeCenter 128 will be the dynamic work and leisure destination that we envisioned for our clients and the community."
Cummings director Matthew Donaghey said, "not only is the property visible to so many cars on a daily basis, it's also incredibly convenient for business owners, their employees, their visitors, and for the local community."
