Dacon wins 2 ABC Excellence in Leadership Awards

Natick, MA ABC conferred on Dacon the Excellence in Leadership Award for the Monogram Foods and Edwards Vacuum facilities, both in Haverhill, Mass. This award recognizes exceptional leadership beyond construction excellence to positively impact society.

For this competition, job creation and local philanthropy were the winning catalysts. Collectively, Edwards and Monogram brought employment opportunities across varied careers for over 600 positions. Additionally, with each facility creation, Dacon partners with clients through its philanthropy Designed with Dignity to create a local nonprofit program that otherwise would not come to fruition. Both Edwards Vacuum and Monogram Foods marked their groundbreakings and ribbon cuttings with community programs to introduce their firms to Haverhill residents. Edwards’ programs centered on education, the first providing summer STEM literacy for 850 children and the second, a digital arts studio fostering graphic design skills at the Boys & Girls Club of Haverhill. Monogram Foods centered its philanthropic focus on security by funding 60 families to move out of shelters into their own homes and providing a food sustainability program which resulted in 2,348 lbs of produce.

Greg Beeman, President of ABC MA commented, “Dacon’s work on two projects key to the downtown revitalization of Haverhill was an outstanding example of leading by example. Dacon collaborated with the city of Haverhill and the Commonwealth to make a lasting positive impact on the local community, and helped create 600 new jobs as well as provide support for local families and students.” Adds Kevin Quinn, CEO for Dacon, “Both Edwards and Monogram are generous clients, and eager to integrate with Haverhill’s citizens. The goal of Designed with Dignity partnerships is to address societal needs by supporting long-term community improvement through programs with local nonprofits. It is a winning partnership between the business organizations, nonprofits and citizens. Some of our clients, such as Monogram Foods, choose to continue funding programs after the first year. We couldn’t ask for more than that.” To date, over 16,000 lives have been enhanced by Designed with Dignity programs.
