Swansea, MA Delphi Construction will join the town, local officials, and members of the project team to celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly-expanded Swansea Public Library. This long-anticipated event marks the completion of a transformative project that more than quadruples the library’s size while preserving its historic character.
Originally built in the 19th century, the library has undergone a major expansion from 3,700 s/f to over 19,000 s/f. The upgraded facility integrates modern infrastructure and accessibility standards, including new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, full ADA compliance, and an elevator, while maintaining the distinguished original façade.
“It’s been an honor to partner with the town of Swansea on a project that blends tradition with forward-thinking design,” said Corey Heaslip, vice president of project development at Delphi Construction. “This library stands as a symbol of community growth and long-term investment in public learning spaces.”
The expanded library includes flexible meeting rooms, study and tutoring areas, dedicated community rooms, and enhanced technology infrastructure, delivering a dynamic and inclusive environment that will serve local residents for generations to come.
From structural steel and building envelope work to site finishes and interiors, every phase of construction focused on precision, durability, and community impact.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony brings to a close a construction journey that began with a sunny groundbreaking and continued through months of progress, from foundational work and exterior trades to interior finishes and final systems integration.
