Development Associates completes construction and leasing of the I-91 Professional Center

With the signing of a 40,495 s/f lease with Cooley Dickinson Healthcare, Development Associates of Agawam has completed the construction and leasing of the I-91 Northampton Professional Center. The 80,000 s/f medical and general office project, located at exit 18 of I-91, is comprised of two new 3-story buildings. The first building known as 8 Atwood Dr. was completed in late 2012 with three tenants, and sister building 22 Atwood Drive was recently completed in October 2013 with Cooley Dickinson leasing the entire building. The primary tenant, Cooley Dickinson Healthcare, is an acute care hospital system recently affiliated with Mass General Hospital, providing patient-centered healthcare services both at its main campus, and at satellite facilities in Amherst, Easthampton, Florence, Hadley, South Deerfield and Worthington. At Cooley Dickinson, 300 affiliated physicians and over 1,600 employees work collaboratively to provide the highest quality of care. This collaboration is at the core of Cooley Dickinson's goal to consistently exceed the expectations of patients and families and to become a model for how care is delivered at the nation's community hospitals. The project is owned by a regional investor group with various holdings throughout western Massachusetts with financing lead by Chicopee Savings Bank. R.P. Masiello of Boylston MA is the general contractor working with architect Gregory J. O'Connor and Associates. Development Associates, acted as the developer, leasing agent, and property manager for the project. Development Associates has been developing and leasing commercial and industrial property throughout the pioneer valley for over 30 years. The company has completed numerous major projects throughout the region and manages a 1.6 million s/f portfolio of diverse property.
