Dime Bank awards United Community Families & Services $10,000 toward their Capital Campaign

Dime Bank recently awarded United Community Families & Services (UCFS) with a check for $10,000 toward their Capital Campaign which will fund the final phase of the construction project. The Edward and Mary Lord Foundation will match the donation; so, the donation will now total $20,000. According to Chuck Seeman, president/CEO, "I would like to thank Dime Bank for their generous donation of $10,000 to the expansion/renovation project at the Edward and Mary Lord Family Health Center at UCFS. Dime's commitment to the health and well-being of our region is evident through its support of community organizations such as UCFS." UCFS has been providing healthcare and community services to Norwich and the surrounding areas for 136 years. They have been a cornerstone in the community since 1877 providing a wide-range of programs and services that respond to the ever-growing health and human service needs of those living and working in our region. Their mission is to improve the health and well-being of the community. According to Nick Caplanson, president/CEO of Dime Bank, "Dime Bank is very pleased to support UCFS in this important project. They continue to provide critical health care services to residents in New London County; statistics show that 1 in 14 people in New London County count on their services. Our commitment to community begins with supporting the basic needs of our friends and neighbors and UCFS is an organization that does just that. In this economic climate, with budget cuts and changes occurring in our health care system, it is important that we do what we can to support such an important service provider in our region." Established in 1869, Dime Bank is a mutual bank with over $752 million in assets and 11 convenient branch locations throughout southeastern and shoreline Connecticut and Westerly, Rhode Island. As a full-service financial institution, Dime offers consumer and commercial banking, home mortgages, trust services, and through Dime Investment Services, a subsidiary of Dime Bank, insurance and investment services - all delivered with a personal touch. BauerFinancial, Inc., a national bank rating firm, recognized Dime Bank, as one of the strongest banks in the nation.
