East Boston Savings Bank opens new 2,400 s/f Wakefield branch

November 12, 2008 - Financial Digest
East Boston Savings Bank (EBSB) opened its new branch office at 381 Main St., on the corner of Albion St. The new location is EBSB's 12th branch.
"We look forward to building and expanding our existing relationships and introducing our championship banking to others in the Wakefield area," said Keith Armstrong, EBSB senior vice president of consumer and business banking.
The EBSB branch is located in a storefront formerly occupied by a cell phone company. With 2,400 s/f, the space is smaller than the typical branch the bank would build, but it has been designed to take full advantage of the space.
"We've made it a little more high-tech and less transaction-oriented, with more emphasis on customer service and relationships," Armstrong said.
Brian Scalisi is the branch officer. He comes to EBSB after working at Bank of America and Citizens Bank. The assistant branch manager is Nancy Casey, who formerly worked at EBSB's Peabody branch. Assistant vice president Elaine Foley will oversee residential lending, while assistant vice president Carlos Husak is the commercial loan officer.
As part of the grand opening celebration, visitors to the bank will have a chance to win to $2,500 cash and other prizes.
