Eastern Real Estate and The Kane Co. begin construction of Prescott Post - 360 units multifamily

Portsmouth, NH Eastern Real Estate and The Kane Company have started construction on Prescott Post, a 360-unit Class A multifamily development. The project will transform a vacant retail property into a residential community.

Prescott Post will introduce thoughtfully designed apartment homes that reflect the town’s charm, offering a blend of best-in-class amenities and proximity to the area’s major employers, entertainment, and natural beauty. The project recently broke ground and is scheduled to deliver its first units in Q4 2026, with full completion expected in late 2027. Callahan Construction Managers will oversee the construction of the market-rate community.

Set on 26 acres, Prescott Post will feature a collection of three- and four-story buildings surrounded by nearly three acres of green and community space. The community will include studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences designed to appeal to the city’s growing population of professionals. Amenities will include co-working spaces, an indoor/outdoor fitness suite with yoga studio, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, a dog run with pet wash station, and private garages. Each unit will feature premium finishes such as quartz countertops, stainless steel Energy Star appliances, and in-unit washers and dryers.

Prescott Post will be located near the variety of entertainment and employment opportunities the Seacoast region has to offer. Residents will enjoy proximity to Pease International Tradeport, which houses over 250 companies employing more than 10,500 people across five million s/f of office, industrial and R&D space; Market Square boutiques and shops; a Whole Foods; the Strawbery Banke historic site; and much more. The region has experienced population growth of over 8% since 2010. However, available housing stock hasn’t kept up with the demand, and historically limited multi-family development means Prescott Post will address a  shortcoming in the market.

“At Eastern Real Estate, we focus on creating communities that reflect the scale and character of their surroundings,” said Andrew Hayes, managing director, Eastern Real Estate. “Working closely with local leaders, we’re excited to bring Prescott Post to life, establishing a residential community that complements the Seacoast’s distinctive charm and natural setting while welcoming residents to experience all the city has to offer.”
