Eckman Construction completes new 9,000 s/f Milton Fire Station

Milton, NH The Milton Fire Department held a ceremonial ribbon cutting on February 18, to celebrate the opening of their new fire and rescue station. The Herbert Downs Fire-EMS Station, completed by Bedford-based Eckman Construction, is a 9,000 s/f, facility that provides a larger, safer and more functional space for the town’s fire and rescue teams.

“The Milton staff demonstrates a passion and devotion to public safety, and their new facility reflects that commitment,” said John Deloia, vice president, Eckman Construction. “Chief Marique and his staff now have a facility with all the space and amenities they need to best serve the residents of Milton for years to come.”

The new facility, located at 865 White Mountain Hwy., offers the local staff a larger and more useful space that features four apparatus bays, training areas, turnout gear space, offices, two dorms and a new dispatch center.

Construction finished ahead of schedule and under budget. Cowan-Goudreau Architects of Concord, N.H. provided design services for the project.

Eckman Construction has been a construction manager, design/builder and general contractor in the state since 1974. The firm has managed many municipal construction projects across the state including the two fire stations in Hampton, Pelham Fire Station, Brookline Safety Complex and the new Plaistow Public Safety Complex, which is in progress. It is their commitment to complete every project on time and under budget, creating clients for life.
