Cambridge, MA Facebook, which was started in Cambridge by Mark Zuckerberg a then student at Harvard, has had only a minor presence in New England’s top tier tech town, with only 150 employees.
That Facebook status change as the company will be adding 500 employees in the city at a new building at 100 Binney St.
Bristol-Myers Squibb, which is moving research out of Wallingford, will also be a tenant in the building for center to study genetic disease.
Facebook told the Boston Globe that this will be “a hub for the company’s machine-learning efforts, as the company attempts to understand how Facebook’s data, hardware, and software can be optimized to serve users.”
