Finegold Alexander Arch. names Lane shareholder

Boston, MA According to Finegold Alexander Architects, Christopher Lane, AIA, MCCPO, has been named a shareholder in the firm. Lane, who was promoted to principal in 2021, has been an architect at Finegold Alexander for over 27 years and has been a critical contributor to the firm’s industry-leading work in preservation and adaptive reuse. Lane has also worked on a range of public, higher education, K-12, and private developer projects.

“Christopher’s leadership and technical expertise have made him an invaluable member of the Finegold Alexander team for nearly three decades, and this milestone could not be more well-deserved,” said Rebecca Berry, principal and president of Finegold Alexander.

“His longstanding client relationships, industry leadership, and commitment to our firm will allow him to continue supporting firmwide growth and dedication to excellence.”

Lane’s expertise in adaptive reuse and historic preservation, such as the restoration and preservation of First Church of Christ, Scientist in downtown Boston, is coupled with a forward-thinking and innovative mindset. He is involved in leading Finegold Alexander’s education projects, such as the new ground-up Gladstone Elementary School in Cranston, RI which is currently in design, along with numerous other ground-up, adaptive reuse and historic preservation projects over his career. His goal is to design thoughtful, inspirational, and sustainable spaces for all.

“Over the last 27 years, Finegold Alexander has allowed me to work on meaningful projects while concentrating in sectors I am passionate about, such as adaptive reuse and historic preservation techniques,” said Christopher Lane. “My years with the firm have been extremely fulfilling, and I am excited to see what the future holds as I expand my leadership position in this new role.”

Lane is on the board of Revolutionary Spaces where he was appointed as “Preservation Officer” in 2021 and sits on the Facilities Committee for the Old South Meetinghouse in Boston. He is also a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Historic Resources Committee of the Boston Society of Architects. Lane earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology and has an Associate of Science in Architecture Engineering Technology and Engineering Science.

Along with the celebration of Lane’s new role, Finegold Alexander is also announcing several key promotions within the firm, including Josephine Penta, Lara Pfadt, and Rob Law to Senior Associate and Özge Diler Himes to Associate.
